Industrialised construction.

Built to last.
Made to matter — complete spaces, cast whole.

Welcome to Precast Africa

Complete buildings, manufactured whole.

Our story

How we got here.

Precast Africa is a South African precast manufacturing and industrialised-construction company. We cast complete reinforced-concrete room modules — PPVC, prefabricated prefinished volumetric construction — under factory control, finish them indoors, then deliver whole buildings to developers through one accountable team.

Conventional building cannot close South Africa's housing gap. It is too slow, too wasteful, and too exposed to weather, delay and a shrinking skills base. So we moved the building into the factory: a volumetric precast manufacturing system that casts a monolithic room module every production day, to a standard that holds because it is made in controlled conditions rather than assembled in the open.

What we are working towards is simple to say and hard to do — durable, dignified buildings delivered in months instead of years, at a quality the people who live and work in them can feel, and at a cost and programme a developer can commit to before the first pour. One system, one accountable team, from the mould to the handed-over building.

That is the short version. What follows is the long one, in four parts — the challenge we started from, the conviction that answered it, the system that came out of it, and the outcome it puts on the ground.

01 / 04The challenge

Millions wait. The gap keeps growing.

South Africa faces a housing backlog counted in millions of homes and measured in decades of waiting. Conventional construction cannot close that gap — it is too slow, too wasteful, and too dependent on a shrinking skills base. The arithmetic demands a different method of building.

02 / 04The conviction

Move the building into the factory.

What if a room could be cast as a single volume of reinforced concrete — walls and roof in one pour — then finished indoors under factory control? That is PPVC: prefabricated, prefinished volumetric construction. Not assembled from parts on a site exposed to weather, delay and drift, but manufactured to a standard that holds, then placed and connected.

03 / 04The system

One module. One pour. One day.

A hydraulic steel mould casts a monolithic reinforced-concrete room module every production day. The inner core retracts at each corner to release the cast piece without dragging the concrete — the operation that makes a genuinely monolithic precast unit possible. What follows is factory fit-out, transport, and connection on site.

04 / 04The outcome

Complete spaces, delivered whole.

From a single precast module to an entire neighbourhood — residential schemes, student accommodation, mixed-use buildings, commercial and industrial facilities. Each finished to a standard that conventional construction cannot match at this pace. Fifty-year design life. Up to 90% less waste. Months, not years.

Our purpose

Precast manufacturing for the continent that needs it most.

Precast Africa exists to close the gap between housing demand and delivery. We manufacture PPVC concrete room modules under factory control and deliver finished buildings that endure — with a footprint that doesn’t.

A South Africa where quality homes are delivered in months, not years — where precast manufacturing precision and environmental responsibility make dignified living spaces accessible to every community that needs them.

To manufacture and deliver complete, lasting buildings through one accountable precast platform — with the speed, quality and certainty developers need, at the scale the housing challenge demands, and with the environmental discipline the future requires.

What we are building toward
Homes delivered in months rather than years, at a standard that holds for decades — so supply can finally move at the pace demand already does.
How it is done
Rooms cast as single volumes of reinforced concrete under factory control — PPVC, prefabricated and prefinished — then assembled on site by one accountable team. Up to 90% less waste, a 50-year design life, and a fraction of the site disruption.
Who it serves
The developers, institutions and public programmes carrying the responsibility to build — and the families waiting on a list, the students who need a room by term, and the workers living far from home.

Belief / Values

Speed as a duty.

Precision over expedience.

Housing that doesn’t wait.

South Africa’s housing shortfall is counted in millions of homes and measured in decades of waiting. We do not accept that arithmetic as fixed. Move the repeatable part of a building into a factory, hold it to a standard that does not drift, and the waiting starts to shrink.

  • Speed

Speed is a duty, not a selling point. Families on a list, students who need a room by term, workers living far from home — none of them can afford another decade of waiting. Casting in parallel with site works is how we honour that.

  • Quality

Every module, every measurement, every commitment — held to standard. We bring factory-grade accuracy to an industry defined by approximation, and the fiftieth module is held to the standard of the first.

  • Sustainability

Fifty-year design life. Up to 90% less waste. Lower-carbon concrete, locally sourced materials and less site disruption — permanent construction that outlasts the compromises of conventional building.

  • Scale

One precast module family, repeated across residential, commercial and industrial models. Industrialised construction earns its name only when quality stops depending on which crew turned up that morning.

  • Certainty

Layouts fixed at design freeze, priced per module, delivered to a date. The building that arrives on site is the building that was priced.

  • Accountability

One team carries the entire chain from design freeze to handover. No finger-pointing between trades, no diluted responsibility.

  • Dignity

Speed is not the goal — dignified, safe, lasting places are. We deliver quality buildings at pace because communities cannot afford to wait any longer.

  • Evidence

We publish what we can show. Every figure we state is drawn from a source document, and anything still unproven is carried with its status rather than quietly asserted.

Leadership

The people behind the platform.

A multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, construction managers and industry specialists — united by the conviction that South Africa’s built environment can be rebuilt through precast manufacturing discipline and environmental responsibility.
